MATCH PREVIEW

MAIN PREDICTION: DRAW

Ryukyu made it their third win from three last weekend as they beat FC Ehime 2-0 to stay top of J2. Koji Suzuki scored again, too, to give him five goals in three matches! He scored five goals all season for Machida Zelvia last year! But Ryukyu will no longer be a surprise package after three wins. Their visitors today have some experienced players and a class manager who will have studied Ryukyu!

Vortis went down 1-0 at home to Omiya Ardija last weekend, their second defeat in three J2 matches so far. Vortis have already been surprised by one promoted team this season, conceding four of their five goals so far in that opening game. They are better than their position suggests and were unlucky to lose by a single goal last week. That loss, at home will jolt them enough to know that they must not lose another so early in the season.

Three wins and a home game will see Ryukyu riding a wave of confidence but Vortis will be looking for a point to overcome last week's home defeat and settle the team. They may not be as adventurous as usual against the team who top the division and a defence that has conceded just one goal in their last two games should be enough to slow down Ryukyu's momentum. I see a draw.

SECOND PREDICTION: HILO-LOW

15 of Vortis' 21 away games last season ended with a total of less than three goals due to a strong away defence.

HEAD TO HEAD

These two teams have never met in league play.
