Jong Ajax's Serginho Dest is returning, but the club are still without up to three players.

Hennos Asmelash and Maikel Verkoelen are questionable at Oss while Patrick N’Koyi has been ruled out.

Jong Ajax have been inconsistent so far this season and are hard to predict. After winning 4-0 over NEC Nijmegen four rounds ago, they fell to a 4-3 defeat against Jong Utrecht and a 1-0 loss against Maastricht, but they returned to winning ways with a bang last week thrashing Twente 5-2 away from home. Jong Ajax went behind 1-0 after just six minutes, but Sven Botman (18th minute), Sergino Dest (38th) and Jurgen Ekkelenkamp (42nd) put them 3-1 ahead by the end of the first half. Twente's Peet Bijen brought back some excitement for the home crowd in the 50th minute, but Vaclav Cerny converted a penalty just four minutes later before Ekkelenkamp provided the nail in the coffin with his second goal of the evening in the 56th minute.

Oss, meanwhile, were completely overpowered by Roda, losing for the first time after five straight league win. The division’s then-best defence struggled and let in an astounding five goals, without managing to score themselves. Oss had shipped a total of just ten goals in the 15 league matches beforehand. Despite that shocking loss, they remain in fourth.

Even though they are in mid-table, Jong Ajax are the joint second highest scorers in the league with 31 goals on their tally so far. The side have also won five of their seven home league games, losing the other two. However, Oss are difficult opponents away from home. They have the second best away record in the league, winning five, drawing two and losing only once, while they will travel to Amsterdam on the back of three away wins. Nevertheless, I do believe Oss have taken quite a knock from their 5-0 loss, which Jong Ajax will take advantage of. I think the hosts will edge this, but only by a small margin.

Four of the last five league meetings between these sides have seen odd total goals. Expect that pattern to continue.

Oss are yet to win in Amsterdam in the league, having lost three and drawn two. Jong Ajax did the double in the league last season, winning 2-0 at home and 3-0 away.
