Lanus boss Luis Zubeldia will be without Facundo Quignon again as the defensive midfielder continues to recover from a muscle problem.

Gimnasia LP coach Pedro Troglio has all his regulars at his disposal as left back Matias Melluso has overcome his muscle issues and is available.

Suspended: None

Doubtful: None

Injured/unavailable: Facundo Quignon (muscle), Guillermo Sara (wrist), Facundo Monteseirin (knee ligament), Pedro De la Vega (international duty)

Gimnasia LP

Suspended: None

Doubtful: None

Injured/unavailable: Juan Cataldi (ankle); Jan Hurtado, Jesus Vargas (both international duty)

Lanus’ unbeaten streak in the Argentinian top flight was extended to six league matches (four wins, two draws) last weekend, with the side beating Colon 1-0 at home thanks to Jose Sand’s strike in the 88th minute. After their third consecutive victory, El Granate are now on 21 points, three behind the last continental spot. Furthermore, Luis Zubeldia’s men are on three home successes in a row in league action.

Gimnasia LP were able to create some breathing space with regard to their fight against relegation as they beat Tigre 3-1 at home in a six-pointer last weekend. That victory was their first triumph after a six-match winless run in the league, drawing one and losing five during that time. Having secured 18 points so far this term, El Lobo have now opened up a 5-point gap over Patronato, who occupy the final drop spot. Gimnasia have been poor on the road though this season with just four points so far while they have also lost their last five away league matches.

Lanus are improving week after week while only Colon have performed even worse than Gimnasia LP away from home. A home win is on the cards.

Lanus have scored the opener in four of their last six home league matches while Gimnasia LP were the first team to concede in their last five league outings on the road. I expect the hosts to hit first.

Lanus have not lost in their last 12 league meetings against Gimnasia LP, having drawn four and won eight of them – including the last six.
