After a three-game winning streak in the league, Racing Club only managed to draw 1-1  away at Colon last weekend. However, they were lucky to leave Santa Fe with a point as they were 1-0 behind until the 88th minute when Dario Cvitanich netted the equaliser. La Academia still remain at the top of the standings with 52 points, with a one-point lead over second-placed Defensa y Justicia. They have been difficult to beat since mid-October, having clinched 32 points from the last 39 on offer. Racing Club also hold the best home record in Argentinian top flight, with nine victories and two draws.

Belgrano finally managed to end their ten-match winless streak of seven draws and three defeats in league action by beating fellow relegation candidates Patronato 3-0 at home. That victory means they are now level on points with last weekend’s opponents and San Martin SJ in the relegation table, which means the three teams would be involved in a playoff if it was the end of the season. El Pirata have particularly struggled on their travels this term; they are yet to win on away turf following six draws and four losses.

Racing Club seem unstoppable on their own turf and have won their last four home league matches while Belgrano are terrible travellers. This should be an easy win for the home side.

Racing Club have scored seven goals in their three home matches in the Argentinian top flight in 2019, averaging 2.33 goals. Meanwhile, Belgrano haven’t found the back of the net in three away league matches. I expect a 2-0 home win.

Belgrano are unbeaten in their last three league meetings against Racing Club, winning once and drawing twice.
