Argentine Division 1 -- San Martin San Juan  VS  Argentinos juniors

San Martin SJ right back Gonzalo Prosperi could be available after overcoming his muscle issues. The rest of the regulars are at Ruben Forestello’s disposal.

Argentinos Juniors boss Diego Dabove has an almost full squad to choose from this weekend. The only absentee is Francisco Ilarregui, who is still recovering from a long-term knee injury.

San Martin SJ

Suspended: None

Doubtful: Gonzalo Prosperi (muscle)

Injured/unavailable: Alex Silva Quiroga, Fernando Brandan, Diego Cardozo (all knee)

Argentinos Juniors

Suspended: None

Doubtful: None

Injured/unavailable: Francisco Ilarregui (knee ligament)

Struggling San Martin SJ were close to claiming a much-needed league win last weekend.    They were leading 1-0 away against Lanus until stoppage time, only to see their opponents equalise in the 93rd minute. Following that 1-1 draw, they are now level with Patronato and Belgrano in the point-average table, and all three teams would have to defend their top-flight status in a playoff if it was the end of the season. San Martin SJ are winless since early February, having drawn three and lost two of their last five league matches. However, they are unbeaten in their last three home league matches with one win and two draws.

Argentinos Juniors need only one more point to secure their top-flight status following a 0-0 home draw with Velez Sarsfield last week. El Bicho are occupying the penultimate spot of the league table with 19 points, but they have been improving recently and are unbeaten in their last four league games (two wins, two draws). They won 3-2 at San Lorenzo in their last away league match, which ended a four-match winless streak of two draws and two defeats on the road in league action.

San Martin SJ are struggling, but Argentinos Juniors are not that confident when they travel. I also think the visitors will mainly focus on defending as they need one more point to stay in the top flight. A draw looks likely.

I expect a low-scoring league game here as both sides have failed to score in two of their last three league matches.

Both sides have won twice at home in their last five league meetings, along with one draw.
