MATCH PREVIEW

MAIN PREDICTION: HOME WIN

Steve Bruce has done an excellent job at Sheff Wednesday so far, guiding the club to four wins and five draws from nine league games. After holding Derby to a 1-1 draw at Pride Park last weekend, the Owls won 2-0 against Bolton at the University of Bolton Stadium in midweek. Wednesday have been very hard to beat at home in league action in recent months, winning five and drawing four of their previous nine league contests at Hillsborough.

Blackburn picked up a vital 3-0 home league win over Wigan in their last match. Prior to that victory over the Latics, Rovers had lost six and drawn one of seven league fixtures. Tony Mowbray’s men occupy 16th place in the table on 47 points. Worryingly for Blackburn, the Lancashire side have won just four times on the road throughout the entire league season (five draws, nine losses), picking up a solitary point from their last four away from Ewood Park in league action.

Due to Blackburn’s poor away form, Sheff Wednesday will fancy their chances in this league clash. Back the home team to secure a comfortable margin of victory at the weekend.

SECOND PREDICTION: CORRECT SCORE – 2-0

Sheff Wednesday have kept six clean sheets in nine league games under Steve Bruce, winning their last three league victories by two goals each. I fancy them to keep Blackburn out in a 2-0 win this weekend.

HEAD TO HEAD

Sheff Wednesday had won three in a row in this head-to-head in league action before falling to a 4-2 league defeat to Blackburn at Ewood Park earlier in the season.
