TEAM NEWS

Mitsuki Saito came on as a 65th minute substitute last weekend, despite not being fully fit but Keisuke Saka is still not in full training and Daiki Kaneko is out with a pelvic injury. A second string Bellmare went down 4-1 at Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo on Wednesday in the League Cup.

Yamaga will still be missing Hiroki Yamamoto and Jo Jin-woo to injury. Yamaga lost 3-1 at home to Jubilo Iwata in League Cup play on Wednesday.

MATCH PREVIEW ?MAIN PREDICTION: HOME WIN

Shonan went down 2-0 at home to Jubilo Iwata last weekend. They were unlucky to lose after first conceding an own goal and then, through chasing the game concede a last second goal when the goalkeeper was up the field at a corner. We should see the team that has three wins this season and has only lost to FC Tokyo and Kashima Antlers – two high flyers. While I can't see Bellmare ending in the top half of the table, I do feel that they have grown enough together – and manager Cho Kwi-jae is experienced enough – to not struggle in the lower half as the season progresses. They have good squad that works together, and good fans who finally saw a trophy last season. Morale is good and that is a big thing.

Yamaga were triumphant over star-studded Vissel Kobe last weekend on goals from Masaki Miyasaka and Masaki Iida. They eventually held on for a welcome 2-1 win. Their tactics against the passing game of Vissel were excellent, they pushed and pressed, defended well and in number and raised their game for the visit of the stars. I somehow feel that they may not feel they have to raise their game so much this week and this may go against them. Playing against Vissel Kobe will be many teams' cup final this year, and then they will be deflated the next week.

Bellmare under-performed last week, by far, while Yamaga over-performed. Bellmare will raise their game to compensate and get back to winning ways, while Yamaga may find it hard to replicate last week's form. Expect a home win.

SECOND PREDICTION: CORRECT SCORE 2-0

Bellmare averaged almost two goals per game before last week's upset and can return to winning here with another two goal day. Yamaga have failed to score in half of their games and after giving their all to win last week, may well return to the losing run they had (three defeats in-a-row) before last week's miracle!

HEAD TO HEAD

Yamaga were in J2 last season so the last time these two teams met was in 2015 in J1 when Yamaga were relegated. Bellmare won away and draw at home.
