-----------------------------------

Southampton: Hasenhüttl is an improvement ( Recent Form: W D W D D )

Under Ralph Hasenhüttl, things are heading in the right direction with Southampton. You can say what you want but the Austrian does a lot better than his predecessor Mark Hughes. At least, the results are a lot better. It does not mean that Southampton is therefore directly out of relegation worries, because The Saints are still just above the mark. The lead on Cardiff City is two points and the Hasenhüttl formation must win from the club from Wales on Saturday afternoon if it wants to take the first step towards preservation of life. In the coming weeks, Southampton will play duels with, among others, Arsenal, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur. In short: this weekend is one of the few opportunities for Southampton to get a good result in the coming period. The last two games were also very important for The Saints. Last week, competitor Crystal Palace visited St. Mary's Stadium and the game ended in a 1-1 draw. Southampton achieved the same result last weekend when Burnley was the opponent of The Saints. Nathan Redmond had put Southampton ahead at the beginning of the second half, but The Saints had to collect a penalty in the extra time. Alex McCarthy did not succeed in stopping Ashley Barnes' penalty and, as a result, Southampton lost two expensive points.

Cardiff City: Beautiful tribute to Sala ( Recent Form: L D L L W )

Just as with the French FC Nantes, the Welsh Cardiff City also does not put football in the first place. Both Les Canaris and The Bluebirds are still with their heads at the death of Emiliano Sala and that is their right. Both at the club from the Ligue 1 and the Premier League club, Sala received a wonderful tribute. Last weekend the Argentinian received that tribute at the Cardiff City Stadium, the stadium where he should shine in the coming years. Cardiff City played the first home game last week since the plane crash and The Bluebirds did what Sala deserved: win. It was won by AFC Bournemouth, which has much better material than Cardiff City. This time, however, the match was not decided on quality but on betting and that was no shortage at Cardiff City. Bobby Reid was the great hero against Bournemouth with two goals and the funny thing was that Reid made it 2-0 just after halftime, but that goal fell so quickly after the halt that manager Neil Warnock was still busy with his walk from the locker room to the dug out. The English manager was not lucky after the 2-0 win at Bournemouth, but also realizes that Cardiff City is not there yet. The gap at Burnley, Southampton and Newcastle United, the three teams that stand above Cardiff City, is two points and The Bluebirds can come out on top this weekend when three points are caught at St. Mary's Stadium.

THE BETTING VERDICT:

After all, underestimated and having to play away, Cardiff will naturally play defensively with the goal of scoring. Thus, it is difficult to hope that there will be many goals in this match when Southampton itself is not a team with good scoring achievements. Specifically, the last two games of The Saint ended with 2 goals / match. Besides, the encounters between the two teams also often have very few goals scored (the last two matches Cardiff beat Southampton 1-0).
