Swansea City: After two bad games ( Recent Form: D W W D L )

Swansea City has had a very turbulent transfer period. Relatively unexpectedly, Wilfried Bony, Jefferson Montero and Tom Carroll were disposed of. Bony left for Qatar to play for Al Arabi until the end of the season. Even more remarkable are the clubs where Montero and Carroll play now. The two are leased respectively to West Bromwich Albion and Aston Villa, two major competitors from the Championship. On deadline day, we also tried to let Captain Leroy Fer move to The Villans. His physical condition, however, threw a spanner in the works, so Fer will certainly be employed by The Swans until next summer. Why so many players were suddenly put on sale? That remains a big mystery. Extra noteworthy is that Huw Jenkins, the director of Swansea since 2002, has left the team from Wales three days after the closing of the transfer market. Jenkins had been away from the fans of The Swans for a long time and the criticism of his address intensified after last season's relegation. Despite, among other things, the promotion to the Premier League in 2011, few fans will look back on the Jenkins era with a good feeling. Now it is up to the remaining players to make something of the as yet colorless season in the Championship. Swansea is thirteenth and has a six point deficit on the top six. In principle, that gap can be closed, were it not that no player was added to the selection after the broom was taken through the selection this winter.

Millwall: Good form on the road ( Recent Form: W L D W D )

Although Millwall is lower in the ranking than Swansea City, the results of the past few weeks have been a lot better with the team from London. In 2019, Blackburn Rovers (0-2) was only lost for the time being and succeeded in eliminating Everton in the fourth round of the FA Cup. The Premier League-club took the lead against The Lions twice, but Neil Harris's team showed tremendous resilience by eventually winning 3-2 on The Den. In the two league matches for this cup match with The Toffees, Millwall did not go beyond two draws. Middlesbrough was held at a meritorious 1-1 tie at Riverside Stadium, but in return, fellow-lowfielder Rotherham United managed to win two points from The Lions (0-0). All in all, the results of the past weeks have led to the exit of the relegation zone. The gap with number twenty-two Reading is five points and Millwall has thus managed to avoid the greatest danger.

After all, Swansea City has a major attack on the selection to process this transfer period and therefore seems in principle no longer to participate in the battle for the playoff tickets. The selection of Graham Potter is simply less broad than that of the competitors and that will probably become a spoiler in the remainder of the season. Millwall, on the other hand, has been playing solidly for weeks now and I think therefore that there is certainly something possible in the Liberty Stadium.
