MATCH PREVIEW

MAIN PREDICTION: HOME WIN

Viking played an away league game against Stromsgodset in round seven. It was a game that they drew 0-0. Viking are unbeaten at home in the league this season, with two wins and a draw, and they appear more relaxed when they play in front of home support. Kristian Thorstvedt has been one of the club’s more impressive performers so far, having scored three and assisted on one occasion. The young Norwegian has been both a skillful and powerful presence in the Viking midfield and has started every league match for his club so far.

Stabaek lost 1-0 at home to Brann in their round seven league match. It was a league game in which the visitors dominated and the scoreline could have been far higher. Veton Berisha scored the match’s only goal, a powerful strike in the 21st minute of play. Henning Berg’s boys have lost all three away league games in 2019, conceding seven goals and rather worryingly failing to score a single goal. It is the worst away form of any team in the division.

Viking are unbeaten in league games played at home this season, and add to that the good home league record they have against Stabaek, it is reason enough to predict another home win here.

SECOND PREDICTION: HILO - HIGH

Three of the last four league meetings between these clubs in Stavanger have resulted in games of at least three total goals. Therefore, I will go for another goal fest in this one.

HEAD TO HEAD

Viking haven’t lost any of their last six league meetings against Stabaek in Stavanger, drawing just one and winning five of those.
